JUNIOR SP.
Based in Athens, Greece, Junior SP.’s name is synonymous to Drum’n’Bass in his country. Very few people can take equal credit in building up a movement and pushing the sound within a certain territory, as Junior SP.’s multi-tasking and constantly evolving activities for more than two decades, have helped establish Drum’n’Bass and other music genres involving breaks in Greece.
George Junior SP. started Djing back in the distant 1992 and it took him just 2 years to realize that pushing D’n’B and other music genres involving breaks would be a life mission, so he started promoting & DJing at the legendary “Infinity” nights based at the iconic club “Alsos” from 1994 until 1996. He then created Innersense Productions in 1996 and up until the present day, he has hosted over 70 (!) artists in Greece, most of them for the very first time in the country.
Having completed a decade of constant DJing, from the biggest, most known clubs & bars in Athens, Thessaloniki & Mykonos, to the Olympic Stadium in Athens, to the very far ends of Greece, it was time for Junior SP. to start producing, so he got in the studio in 2002, and his first official release came in 2005, with “Timeless Playground” LP alongside Milto Eph, a cinematic breaks/funk/DnB album that was critically acclaimed and included in the Top 10 Greek Albums of the year in relative media lists.
His involvement with music and clubbing led him to yet another path, where he co-created and co-owned his own venue, called “The EARTH Bar”, located at Psirri area, Athens between 2005 – 2009, while unstoppably DJing with his Innersense nights but also with his then side projects, “Urbanizm” (dnb nights) alongside fellow producer & DJ Cryogenics and “Rave-O-Lution 8808” (old school nights), alongside long time companion Harris Funxion.
Proceeding and reaching the present, Junior SP. has been busier than ever, heavily promoting his Innersense nights, DJing and producing fresh music, already demonstrating releases on Liquid Drops, In Da Jungle Recordings, Tuna recordings and KNKUC, while having other releases lined up for 2015.
His latest involvement in the industry has been artist management & major events production, as he is looking after Greek bands and individual artists, while being included in the core team of Detox events, one of the main production companies in Greece.
